ClassMinds is an iOS app for college students that combines class management, real-time classmate chat, and an AI tutor that answers using your actual class notes — all in one place.

College and university students managing multiple classes, assignments, and study groups. It's especially useful if you take notes digitally and want an AI tutor that knows what you've actually covered in class.

ClassMinds is iOS-native (iPhone, iOS 17+). An iPad-optimized experience is on the roadmap. Android and web are not currently supported.

It's completely free during public beta. After launch it's $8.99/month — one simple plan, every feature included, no free tier. Beta users lock in the $8.99 rate permanently.

When you upload notes, PDFs, or slides to a class, ClassMinds indexes them privately to your account. When you ask the tutor a question, it retrieves the relevant passages from your materials and uses them as context for the answer — so responses are grounded in your actual coursework.

ClassMinds uses OpenAI's GPT-4 class models for reasoning. Your notes are not used to train any third-party model — they're used only to answer your own questions.

ClassMinds is designed as a tutor, not a homework bot. It explains concepts, walks through problems, and quizzes you on your notes — it's built to help you understand material, not to hand you answers.

You can import your schedule from a screenshot or manually create classes in a few taps. ClassMinds auto-generates class codes, assignment tracking, and a chat room for each course.

Only students who have joined the same class with your class code. Chats are per-class, not global — you won't see messages from students at other schools.

Yes — you can share specific notes into your class chat. Your private notes stay private unless you explicitly share them.

Only you. Uploads are stored encrypted at rest and scoped to your account. ClassMinds staff do not read your notes. See our Privacy Policy and Security page for full details.

Yes. Account deletion is available in Settings → Account. When you delete, your notes, uploads, and personal data are permanently removed; group-chat messages are tombstoned (sender replaced) so other students' conversations aren't orphaned.

ClassMinds is designed with FERPA and GDPR principles in mind: minimal data collection, user-controlled deletion, encrypted storage, and no training on user data. We're not currently a FERPA-covered service provider for institutions — contact us if your school needs a Data Processing Agreement.
